We went to America’s Got Talent Last Monday. Today I watched it on Hulu. My friend Jonathan got to sit right behind the judges. It was kind of cool to see him on TV several times.
I shot this video of an entertainer our ministry brought in for our back-to-school weekend. It was kind of random, but lots of fun to see. It was a big plus that nobody died.
AT&T, everyone’s favorite phone company to hate lately, has finally set the date for MMS availability on the iPhone. Multimedia messaging will debut for U.S.-based iPhone 3G and 3GS users on September 25, AT&T says. All you’ll have to do is download a software update, and you’ll be in business.
Last night I threw a party for college students who had either been in my small group, camp cabin or mission trip village during their high school years. Besides having a lot of fun and catching up on each others’ lives, there are a few benefits to doing this:
– If any have wandered from the faith, it’s a good time for them to be reminded about how good life was when they were connected with God
– For those who need a boost moving on with life, this is a great way for them to get inspired
– My personal favorite is planting the seed for them to become volunteers with our high school ministry.
Yesterday we took some guys on Guy Day. (Girls also had a day going on at the same time.) We had a day full of fun guy activities. This was a great connect-level event. Many of the guys did not know each other before the day began. By the end of the day that had changed. There are an amazing amount of memories from the event which included: Volleyball, In & Out Burger, Ultimate Frisbee, Laser Tag (my user name was Sparkle Bunny), BJ’s Pizza and then a minor league baseball game where we made up about 1/2 the crowd, but brought all of the fun.
Here’s a video I shot on my phone of a Guy Day competition which took place at the fountain in front of BJ’s Pizza. The winner got a personal-size Pazookie (large cookie covered in ice cream).
